Here's just a small sampling of some of the projects we've completed over the years.
COPPER ROSE WITH FORGED STEEL STEM & LEAVES
The bloom of the rose is made from seven separate layers of recycled heavy gauge copper roof flashing. Each petal is cut, annealed and shaped by hand. The steel stem, leaves and thorns are forged from solid steel bar. After "flame coloring" the petals, a few drops of rose oil are added to the center of the bloom. Be sure to check out our shop for a free download of the petal template.
Residential steel railing
Build it once, build it right. Heavy gauge steel posts support the rail on each end while 1/2" solid steel pickets carry the 3/8" thick x 1-1/2" wide solid steel upper and lower rails. The cap rail was forged and shaped by hand and hammer. A self etching primer and two coats of black paint will keep this piece looking new for years.
floating shelf made from fallen hickory tree
There is gratification breathing life into an object that was cast aside. Every year in our area, storms lay claim to the surrounding trees. What appeared to be a piece of firewood to some, soon became a floating shelf following some work-shop rev-er-rie. This rotted section of a fallen Hickory Tree was quartered, sanded glass smooth and finished with several coats of lacquer. The shelf is supported by a custom fabricated, recessed steel bracket.
